Our optometrist at Eye Site Vision Center in Boca Raton offers corneal refractive therapy, also call Ortho-K and orthokeratology, for the correction of nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatisms, and presbyopia. These hard contact lenses work well for individuals who don’t want to wear vision correction during the day.
Ortho-K is a relatively new way to correct refractive errors with therapeutic contact lenses. These gas permeable lenses are worn at night. While you sleep, the snug fit and custom shape gently corrects the curvature of your cornea so that light is reflected correctly on the back of your eyes. Ortho-K does not involve surgery, and it is completely reversible. If you decide you do not want to wear your orthokeratology lenses, all you have to do is stop wearing them. However, you will need another type of vision correction, like glasses or soft contacts.
Orthokeratology is an effective treatment for many types of refractive errors.
Our Optometrist in Boca Raton offers corneal refractive therapy, comprehensive eye exams, contact lens exams and exams for glasses. He also performs exams for hard-to-fit contact lenses, and he can perform all of your pre and post-operative care for LASIK surgery.
If you would like to see if orthokeratology lenses would help you, schedule a contact lens exam. f it has been a while since your last exam, we recommend comprehensive examination along with your contact lens fitting.
